When I was knee high I would go out with my Uncle and watch him hunt with black powder, and that was the world to me, and when old enough he would arm me with a single shot 22 and he would take me out hunting squirrels or tree rats as we called them. LOL It really doesn't sound like much but those are memorys that I will carry forever!
My father was the biggest influence on me when it came to hunting or just being in the outdoors, fishing, tracking, spot and stock was all part of learning and I enjoyed the time with my father as well we had something in common to do, we worked as well as played together most of my life and our bonding was unbreakable. Its unfortunate when my father past on it was a very hard time though he wanted me to continue with what I enjoy doing, so I pushed myself to help more people to become hunters as well my son has become a very good hunter and has shown me skills he has learned over the years I'm proud at what he has accomplished as well I know my father would have been impressed as well knowing are knowledge as well learning was pasted down a few generations. So in short my dad was the main reason for what I love and enjoy today, and wouldn't change it for the anything.
well i was in a foster home when i was a kid and my foster dad got me into hunting and fishing . i have been hunting and fishing since i was 6 yr's old .

my cousin butch put the first bow in my hand. it was a longbow and i think as big as me! we walked a path in the wood to a spot and he let me shoot and shoot, i think that was the only day we shot the bow together. but i remember it to this day like it was yesterday.thanks butch! i shot my first compound bow about 10 yrs ago. a friend gave me his old bow. i loved it and have been hunting ever since.
my uncle gave me a marksman slingshot when i was just a little guy, i hunted every squirrel for two city blocks ...lol..
"now that im a man , i put away childish things "

My father in law taught me how to hunt. Needless to say I didn't learn until I was in my late 20's. I remember that first deer. I was so nervous I don't know how I held the gun still to shoot. When I got down out of the tree he came over and said nice deer. Then he stuck the knife in the ground and said call me when its clean. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry since I had not cleaned a deer before then. I spent more time with him than my own father at the time, but now I make sure to take dad out when I can. I took him fishing in October. Neither one of us caught anything we were to busy having fun visiting.
My dad started me rabbit hunting when i was just a little boy. We went ever chance we got. I think thats what got me into the outdoor addiction. I just can't get enough of the outdoors. Now i am passing it own to my kids and grandchildren. So always remember to pass it own.
My dad taught me EVERYTHING!!! He wanted me to be a boy...lol! But hes got one hell of a girl! My first hunt was the 07 season...but i was around it all my life with my dad.
