Depends on the area your hunting each area has its different colors and shades, you dress according to your surrounding

that depends on where you are hunting...if i am in a ground blind with black interior ,i will wear black...if i am in my nature built ground blind i wear realtree hardwoods green, i'm surrounded by branches and leaves,so i blend in....if i am in a tree stand i want camo that looks like tree bark!!!!!!!!! if i'm hunting a farm field and i'm hunkered down behind a hay bail, then realtree max4 is what i wear ..i could go on explaining different scenarios but lets just say you have to dress to blend in to your environment that you are in that day/hunt!

match the elements around you ... grass for tall grass... sage for sage ... pine for pine ... oak for oak... match as close as you can ...cat-tail patterns for cornfields..
i buy my camo in the off season ..(clearance ) ...example: real-tree camo cargos for $5.00 .. $1.50 hats/gloves...$3.00 t-shirts...off the rack or from bargain catalogs ...buy large and Tailor fit...

I wear Advantage mostly. I like the lighter camos, as the folds in my clothers, with or by body positioning, will add contrasting dark shadows. I still like Predator and the old Winona large pattern stuff. Think most of the new camo is still too dark/busy.

Camo doesn't work if you stink, move around too much, or go in and out like a freight train. Yet many people think they can do that junk, then sit for a bit with brand XYZ camo and it makes a difference. Sometimes they score, so that then solidifying their incorrect beliefs.

I sneak in to my stands, I sneak out too. I set my stands so that the deer do as they have before- I try for minimal impact. That means as I observe and learn I have to move my stands a few times, even on ground I've hunted for years.

Biggest thing I think is to find a wide tree, wider than you shoulders. Deer seem oblivious to you when you do that. High, small diameter trunk tree, you still look like a tumor up there. Will say height does seem to help, over 25 ft and deer have never busted me. The danger as one goes higher is magnified though.

Still hunting, I use trees and topography, don't rely on my camo.

I think I could wear purple and pink camo and kill deer just fine. But.............I'll stick with browns and greens ;-)

I like a large pattern for camo. Small patterns seem to run together at a distance. I was always a fan of the predator (? I think) camo. I never owned a set but thought it would work well. Not knowing exactly how well a deer can see, it's best to play it safe with a large blotchy pattern that a small tight one. I see a black & white photo of a guy that blended well with the tree he was in. Then it showed a color pic of him and he was wearing one of those Haiwian shirts...grins. Stuck out like sore thumb. I use military camo.... green brown beige blothes for early fall and marine digital after leaf drop. That blends well with the trees here....
